About
Adresses Privées is a holiday-letting site between private individuals, with no commission and no online booking. What follows describes what we do and why; what belongs to its founder is left for him to complete.
What we are trying to do
To put owners and travellers back in direct contact, as was done before platforms placed themselves in between. The owner sets their price and receives all of it; the traveller pays what is shown; the two speak before deciding. We make the homes findable, legible and serious, and we stop there.
Why no commission
A commission on every stay creates an interest in multiplying stays, then in keeping people on the platform, then in hiding each side's contact details from the other. We prefer an annual subscription: the price is the same whether the owner lets two weeks or twenty, and nobody has an interest in standing between them.
Why no online booking
Booking online means holding a calendar, taking a deposit, arbitrating cancellations and answering for disputes. That is a different trade, with different obligations, and it pushes apart the two people who ought to be talking. We pass on an enquiry; they do the rest.
What we refuse
Invented reviews, photographs that do not show the home, inflated audience figures, exact addresses exposed on a public map. The demonstration homes that remain while the catalogue is built all carry a visible label.
Who writes these pages
TO BE COMPLETED: a few lines about you — where the idea came from, what you let yourself, what decided you. This page is the only one on the site where your voice matters more than ours.
Reaching us
A question, a remark, a disagreement: the Contact page says where to write. We read everything.
