Frequently asked questions

The questions raised by a site that puts people in touch without booking or handling money. If yours isn’t here, write to us.

For travellers

Can I book directly on the site?

No, and that is deliberate. Adresses Privées puts people in touch; it does not take bookings. You write to the owner, they reply from their own mailbox, and you agree together on dates, price and terms. No calendar is held on the site, and no deposit is paid through it.

What does it cost me?

Nothing. The site is free for travellers, with no service fee or commission added to the price of your stay. What the owner quotes is what you pay, to them, directly.

Are the dates shown reliable?

They are indicative. The calendar is kept by the owner, who is under no obligation to fill it in. A day that has not been stated shows as not stated, never as free. Always confirm your dates with the owner before committing.

Why doesn’t the map show the exact address?

The position shown is deliberately offset by about five hundred metres. It places the neighbourhood without exposing someone’s home on a public page. The precise address comes from the owner once you are in touch.

How do I pay, and with what guarantees?

Payment is settled directly with the owner, on the terms you agree. We handle no money and so can guarantee nothing on that point. Ask for a written rental agreement, be wary of any urgent transfer request, and never pay by a means that leaves no trace.

Can I save homes for later?

Yes, by creating an account. What you save is visible only to you: the owner sees how many people have saved their home, never which ones.

Will I see the owner’s reply on the site?

No. They reply to you directly by email, at the address you gave. Your account reminds you who you wrote to and when, but the conversation continues in your inbox.

For owners

Do you take a commission on my lettings?

Never. No commission on your rentals: what you let, you keep, and you set your own prices. We are paid by the annual subscription and by the paid placements, which are bought separately and never automatically.

What does the subscription cost?

One hundred and nineteen euros a year for one home, two hundred and forty-nine for up to three, four hundred and forty-nine for up to ten. The Pricing page sets out what each tier includes. The first hundred owners get the founders’ offer. Beyond ten homes, write to us.

How long does it take to publish?

Filing a listing takes around thirty minutes if your photographs are ready. Every listing is then read by a person before it goes live. If something is wrong, you get a written reason, not a flat refusal.

Do I need a declaration number?

Yes, in France. Since 20 May 2026, every furnished holiday let must be declared on the national online service, which issues a number; some towns also cap how long a main residence may be let. This obligation is yours, and the listing has a field for displaying your number.

Will my listing be translated?

That is the plan: when your listing goes live it is translated into the site’s three other languages, and machine-translated text carries an explicit label. Until the translation service is connected, your listing exists only in the language you wrote it in, and we would rather say so than copy your French out under an English label.

Who receives travellers’ enquiries?

You do, by email and in your owner area. You reply from your own mailbox: we do not sit between you and the traveller. The initial enquiry itself is kept for three years — our privacy policy says so — and a moderator can read it if you report it.

Trust

Are there traveller reviews?

Yes, and they carry an unusual note. We take no bookings: we cannot certify that a stay took place, and we will never write “verified stay”. Each review comes with what we actually know — that its author wrote to the owner for those dates, and that the owner replied. The owner has a public right of reply, once, and can neither edit nor delete a review. No average is shown until there are three.

Are some listings fictional?

Demonstration homes exist while the catalogue is being built, and every one of them carries a visible “demonstration” label. They cannot be contacted or saved. No invented data is ever presented as real.

How do I report a problem?

An owner can report an abusive enquiry from their account. Anyone can report unlawful content by email, giving the page address and the nature of the problem. Every moderation decision is reasoned and recorded.
